Terrible joke

Wednesday, November 16th, 2005

A couple are driving through Wales on holiday, and stop in the town of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch for something to eat.

While placing a food order in a local establishment, they ask the person serving if she could tell them where they are, slowly, so that they might catch it.

Burrr-gurr Kiiing.

Birthday #33

Friday, November 4th, 2005

My recent birthday resulted in two gifts from Suzy that totally blew me away.

One of them was a scrapbook: a day-by-day reminder of our recent, and fantastically enjoyable, holiday on Arran. It’s something that I will treasure for years to come.

The second arrived today. It’s one of my favourite books of all time - the unabridged first edition of Heinlein’s The Cat Who Walks Through Walls. I previously had a relatively modern imprint of it, last known to have been located in my Dad’s shed, along with the other items of my childhood, but I never thought I’d ever have a copy of it again, let alone a brand new first edition.

Thank you sooo much sweetheart!

And, oh, yeah, sorry I couldn’t make it to Whitby. I hope you guys had a blast. Maybe next year, eh?
